The cold in Washington was actually getting to me. For over 30 years, August has been sunny and hot. To have a high of 65F and complete cloud cover felt very wrong. And as lovely as it is up there, I'll take over summers over 100F compared to 6 months of winter any day.

Hi Milt,

Thanks for the comment. There will be more to this site once I get caught up. I was at a professional novel writing workshop put on by David Farland. Fabulous workshop, but I was also basically offline for over a week and am still catching up. I would love to hear how the IO is working out for you.

Take care,
Heidi

Hey Russ,

I think personality systems are interesting, and great guides for fleshing out characters in a novel.

I googled a few color personality tests and liked this one: http://www.testcolor.com/personalitytest/personalitytest.php

It's free, doesn't require an email address, and provides a lot of detail on the final page. It didn't specifically match me up with a single color, but my top three characteristics were: Intellectual, Well-thought, and Imaginative. So you were right about the attention to detail, and since they didn't have Creative as a characteristic, I'll go with Imaginative.

Thanks for the comment,
Heidi

Heidi

I'm going to challenge you here on your claim to 'creativity'. Instead, I would suggest that, like me, you are a 'Green' personality type. One of the characteristics is 'attention to detail'.

My wife is very skilled in many areas of personality dynamics. She is the one who introduced me to 'True Colors' and 'Personality Dimensions' (the Canadian counterpart to True Colors).

While you may not like to compartmentalize people (eg. zodiac signs, etc) I think you'll discover as I did that True Colors is uncannily accurate. If you aren't familiar with this form of personality typing, here is a small sample to whet your appetite. It's fascinating stuff.
